The Ascending Spirit

There is a voice in the wind tonight,
I hear the echo rippling through the sky.
Oh how it settles in the depths of my soul,
A song of ancient voices drawing me home.

There is a love ascending from the vastness of night,
I feel it pulsating in all that has life.
Oh how it evokes the heights of my spirit,
A herald orchestra playing the opening of doors.

I’ll run and not know fatigue, leap and not know bounds,
Face mountains and not be hindered, cross rivers without bridges

My heart is awaken and set on runner’s feet,
Passion swells and bursts like a river broken free.
My spirit has heard the call, the soul can not turn away,
The heart is fully abandoned, my mind knows no other way.

Yes! To reach the crest at the speed of light,
Making an ultimate leap into a star filled night.
Holding my breath, closing my eyes, time is suspended, now hope invites,
Exhaling fears, looking for Your face, Your hand holds me, carried by grace.

A wondrous swim through a sparkling sea,
Your majestic glory for me to see,
The comfort of love, a lover’s kiss,
A place of rest, a home of peace.

 

Hebrews 12

The Race of Faith

¹ Therefore we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, ² looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.

 

Psalm 19

The Perfect Revelation of the Lord

¹ The heavens declare the glory of God;
And the firmament shows His handiwork.
² Day unto day utters speech,
And night unto night reveals knowledge.
³ There is no speech nor language
Where their voice is not heard.
⁴ Their line[a] has gone out through all the earth,
And their words to the end of the world.

In them He has set a tabernacle for the sun,
⁵ Which is like a bridegroom coming out of his chamber,
And rejoices like a strong man to run its race.
⁶ Its rising is from one end of heaven,
And its circuit to the other end;
And there is nothing hidden from its heat.
